Saturday 8/11/73 entry -- continued: "Friday's events: More long hours of driving. We went swimming at Antoine Park and finally got started about 10 am. Highway 17 follows the Ottawa River, but you don't see too much of it. Countryside not too interesting -- lots of trees, rolling hills, and nondescript farms. Very hot and humid.
"I had lunch in a nice bakery in Pembroke -- very cheap -- while P---- sat in the park and wrote postcards. A big, air-conditioned Woolworths.
"Crossed the river into Quebec and drove down the river to Ottawa. In Ottawa, visited the Arts Center and the Parliament Buildings and a mall. Very hot and humid -- we were both tired. Then on down the river on the Quebec side. The drivers are wild -- fast and reckless like the French.
"Stopped at a very nice Quebec provincial campground on the river -- Dollard des Ormeaux. Clean showers and toilets. All French-speaking people here. Our neighbors were singing and making noise until 3 am, despite peoples' shouts to desist. They were out here to party, not to enjoy nature."

Day 351 of 365
I went to Costco with my parents today. I haven'g been to Costco since 08 so it's been a long time. I amassed myself on gum and spent nearly 40 bucks on it. Gum is much much cheaper in Costco. Above is Costco's tire section. All Michelin tires and Michelin are not the cheapest.
At night, Wang came back and we went out to bum around. I finally got my schwarma since Ottawa. For some reason I find the Ottawa Schwarma better than the Toronto one. Then we went to 10 2 3 to check Tony out. He was quite tipsy. Then for the sake of friday night, we made it to the last call at Platform. Can't say I like that place but I like it better than Firkins. At least there are good sceneries to look at at platform. So I guess I would opt for Platform over Firkins. But I still wouldn't recommend it to people.
Got home at 4 all tipsy and I think I lost my glasses. I remember taking it off while driving but it kinda just disappeared afterward. I guess I will try to find it the next morning.
